Dr. Conroy graduated from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Brown Medical School. She completed her residency in the Department of Psychiatry at Brown University, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Conroy underwent Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship training at Beth Israel Hospital, affiliated with Albert Einstein School of Medicine. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and serves as the Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship program. Additionally, Dr. Conroy is the Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT, and chairs the VA Connecticut Dementia Committee. Her clinical work focuses on outpatient care for complex neuropsychiatric illnesses and cognitive disorders, particularly the intersection of psychiatry and medical illnesses. Dr. Conroy is actively involved in the supervision and education of Geriatric Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine fellows, psychiatry residents, medical students, and pharmacy students, teaching didactic courses. Nationally, she has held leadership positions, including chairing the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry's (AAGP) Scholars program and serving as chair of the AAGP Teaching and Training Committee. In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Conroy received the American Psychiatric Association’s Hartford Jeste Award for Future Leaders in Geriatric Psychiatry in 2015 and the AAGP Educator of the Year Award in 2022. She was named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry in 2024.
