Dr. Michelle Gallant

Biography

Michelle Gallant is a full professor at Robson Hall, Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba since 2014. She has been involved in academia since 1999, initially as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor in 2004. Her teaching and research areas focus primarily on Taxation, Philanthropy Law, International Law, Dispute Resolution, and issues surrounding Money Laundering and Terrorist Finance. Additionally, Gallant has served as a Commissioner for the Manitoba Law Reform Commission from 2012 to 2018 and as Deputy Commissioner of the Residential Tenancies Commission from 2008 to 2011. She has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge and an Adjunct Professor in the Peace and Conflict Studies Program at the University of Manitoba. Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy from King’s College London in 2000, a Master of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1996, and an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1990. Gallant has actively participated in conferences and symposiums, presenting papers on various legal topics, especially concerning anti-terrorist finance strategies and legal education.
