Dr. Michelle Levy

Biography

Michelle Levy is a scholar specializing in Romantic literary history, print manuscript culture, women’s book history, and digital humanities. She is a co-editor of the Broadview Reader in Book History and co-author of the Broadview Introduction to Book History. Her contributions include work with the Multigraph Collective’s 'Interacting Print,' and her notable publication, 'Family Authorship and Romantic Print Culture,' explores the intersections of authorship and family life in late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century contexts. Her recent monograph, 'Literary Manuscript Culture in Romantic Britain,' delves into the practices surrounding manuscript production and circulation and how they shaped the literary culture of the period. Additionally, Levy has directed the Women’s Print History Project, a comprehensive bibliographical database focused on women's books from 1750-1830. Her recent publications also include 'Things Eighteenth Century Manuscripts' and multiple special issues on women’s book history in prominent journals.
