Biography

Michelle von Dach is a doctoral researcher involved in the Horizon 2020 research project HumMingBird, led by Professor Peter Finke. She graduated in social and cultural anthropology and political science from the University of Zurich. Her master's thesis focused on gender, formal and informal institutions, and collective identities in Venice, Italy. She has participated in an ISEK field trip where she conducted ethnographic research on the significance of sound production in celadon pottery in Longquan, China. Currently, her PhD project revolves around the study of contemporary migration flows into Europe, examining the drivers, patterns, experiences, expectations, and perspectives of migrants originating from non-EU countries.
