In 1986, Michiel Bots earned his medical degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Bots has been actively involved in both national and international collaborations, successfully securing funding from various profit and non-profit organizations such as ZonMw, the Netherlands Heart Foundation, the European Union, and the Dutch Kidney Foundation.
