Biography

Dr. Smid received his master's degree from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and his Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam. From 1990 to 1996, he worked as a research associate at the Max-Planck-Institute for Computer Science in Saarbrücken, Germany.
