Biography

Midhat Talibi's research focuses on experimental combustion and alternative energy vectors, including hydrogen, ammonia, and e-fuels, with an emphasis on energy systems. He completed his PhD in hydrogen-diesel combustion and subsequently conducted post-doctoral research on novel fuels for ultra-low emission internal combustion engines (ICEs) and low emission gas turbines (GTs). His work as a research engineer includes involvement in the Innovate UK project investigating hydrogen-diesel co-combustion. Talibi currently holds a prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, where he collaborates with industry to develop hydrogen technologies for power generation and aerospace propulsion applications. He is a Co-Investigator in the EU H2020 HYFLEXPOWER project, which aims to establish the world’s first power-X-power demonstrator plant utilizing hydrogen gas turbines. His research contributions have been widely recognized, with one of his papers featured among IJHE’s 25 most downloaded papers from 2015 to 2019. He also serves as an advisory member of the EPSRC Engineering Early Career Forum.
