Biography

Miguel Rosas Buendia is an Assistant Professor in the School of Modern Languages at Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in Spanish and Latin American Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Brown University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. His ongoing book manuscript, tentatively titled 'Crafting Technoscientific Nation', explores the role of new scientific paradigms in the context of nation-building in nineteenth-century Peru, examining the work of Peruvian scientist Mariano de Rivero. Additionally, he is the founder and director of the Latin American Environmental Humanities Lab (LAEH Lab), which is an interdisciplinary initiative that produces a podcast focused on environmental issues in Latin America. His teaching interests include courses on global Latin America, science and technology, and intercultural seminars.
