Dr. Mihai Curtasu

Biography

Mihai Curtasu is a PhD Fellow and Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Aarhus University. His research primarily focuses on nutritional metabolomics and molecular nutrition, specifically in the application of dietary interventions to enhance animal health and performance. He has contributed to projects investigating the effects of nutrition, disease, and feed additives on animal metabolism. His studies have involved the use of animal models such as minipigs to explore metabolic diseases and nutrition physiology. Mihai holds a double degree in Sustainable Animal Nutrition from the Erasmus Mundus program and has established international collaborations to advance research in untargeted metabolomics analysis. He actively collaborates with various researchers and industry partners to develop sustainable feed solutions, particularly through the exploration of nutritional functional properties of seaweed. In addition to his research, Mihai is committed to teaching and has a teaching philosophy that emphasizes research-led instruction. He teaches courses in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and supervises students under the Erasmus+ program.
