Biography

Mihail Chiru is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, based at St Antony's College, specializing in Comparative Central Eastern European Politics. He received his PhD in Comparative Politics from the Central European University, where he was awarded Summa Cum Laude. Mihail's current research interests include electoral competition and the role of civil society in climate change mitigation policies, particularly regarding how European politicians respond to extreme weather events. His work has been published in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Politics, Journal of European Public Policy, Party Politics, and European Union Politics.
