Biography

Mika Putterman is a talented flautist known for her beautiful sound and expressive playing. She has a passion for sharing knowledge of historical performance practices. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal and later pursued her master’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels, studying under renowned musicians such as Barthold Kuijken and Marc Hantaï. After completing her studies, she returned to Montreal in 2003 and founded 'Autour de la flute', a concert series and ensemble dedicated to flutes from the Renaissance to the Romantic era. Mika is a founding member of 'La Petite Harmonie', a romantic wind ensemble, and regularly performs with several prestigious groups, including Orchestre baroque Arion, Discantvs, Les Idées Heureuses, Ensemble Caprice, and many others. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with esteemed conductors and artists, and her recordings have been featured on CBC Radio-Canada. She has released solo recordings that include world premieres and collaborations with other artists, showcasing her expertise on period instruments. Her newest project includes a recording titled 'Bach Mendelssohn’s' alongside American keyboardist Jory Vinikour.
