Mike Hagenow is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He previously served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Aeronautics and Astronautics department, as well as at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research primarily focuses on developing effective methods for human-robot teaming, especially in contact-rich and physically demanding tasks. Mike is particularly interested in Learning from Demonstration (LfD) and Physical Human-Robot Interaction (PHRI). In addition to his academic work, he has experience managing patient portal systems at Epic Systems. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University in 2014 and his Master’s and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019 and 2023, respectively.
