Biography

Mike Suttie studied BSc Computer Science and MSc Biomedical Imaging at the University of Kent. After graduating, he took a post under Prof. Peter Hammond at Great Ormond Street Hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health, specializing in identifying facial dysmorphology associated with genetic conditions using 3D image analysis. Alongside this position, he pursued a Ph.D. at University College London and is currently a researcher in Medical Image Analysis at the Nuffield Department of Women’s Reproductive Health, with the lab located in the Big Data Institute. He is currently the principal investigator on a project funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) focusing on identifying Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) through 3D image analysis. This NIH-funded project is part of a multidisciplinary global consortium, the Collaborative Initiative on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (CIFASD), with the main goal of informing the development of effective interventions and treatment approaches for FASD.
