Professor Dr. Mikhail Isachenkov

Biography

Mikhail Isachenkov is a researcher at the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam. His work primarily focuses on Quantum Field Theory (QFT), which seeks to describe the fundamental aspects of nature at the smallest distances and the shortest time scales. He has a broad interest in the mathematical machinery of QFTs, with particular emphasis on conformal symmetry and systems in statistical mechanics. His research also connects various domains such as special functions, representation theory, number theory, and operator algebras. Isachenkov is currently exploring the links between QFT, string theory, and quantum gravity, motivated by the pure physical arguments and the similarities in their underlying mathematical structures.
