Dr. Mikhail Lukin

Biography

Mikhail Lukin is a University Professor and Co-Director of the Quantum Science and Engineering Initiative at Harvard University. His research focuses on quantum optics and atomic physics, with an emphasis on studying quantum systems comprising interacting photons, atoms, molecules, and electrons coupled to realistic environments. He is involved in developing new techniques for controlling quantum dynamics in systems and examining the fundamental physical phenomena associated with these techniques. His work aims to explore new physics and facilitate the implementation of potential applications in emerging areas of quantum information science and traditional fields such as nonlinear optics. Professor Lukin is also exploring the interfaces between quantum optics and atomic physics, as well as condensed matter and mesoscopic physics.
