Biography

Professor Haataja’s research focuses on theoretical computational materials science, physics materials, and physical biology. Current work includes studies of microstructure formation, solid-solid phase transformations, solidification, growth of electrodeposited thin films, quantum heterostructures, dynamics driven by interfaces in the presence of mobile impurities, recrystallization kinetics, signaling in cells, and the regulation and self-organization of lipid rafts in plasma membranes.
