Biography

Mila Davids is an Assistant Professor in the History of Technology research group at the section Technology, Innovation & Society at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her expertise encompasses modern and contemporary history, business history of technology, and social history of transitions, with a significant focus on the dissemination of knowledge and the emergence of the global knowledge society. Her research underscores the importance of knowledge for companies in the innovation process. Current projects investigate the dynamics of technological change and the development of innovative companies through knowledge circulation. She also explores the international transfer of knowledge in relation to societal and technological transitions. Additionally, her work examines the roles of research and development in multinational companies and the implications of knowledge transfer on economic and social transformations in developed countries and among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Netherlands. Davids completed her PhD on the denationalization of the Dutch Post Telecom Office and has authored numerous articles and books on the development and dissemination of knowledge in prominent journals such as Technology Analysis Strategic Management, Regional Studies, and Journal of Modern European History. She has managed research projects funded by the Dutch Research Foundation, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Unilever, and Philips. Furthermore, she is active in the N.W. Posthumus Institute for economic and social history and is involved in the program focusing on cultural politics of sustainable urban mobility.
