Professor Dr. Milad Nazarahari

Biography

Milad Nazarahari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, with a focus on Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Robotic Rehabilitation. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta and has expertise in intelligent autonomous systems, particularly robotic wearable technologies designed for tele-assessment and rehabilitation in human health. Milad has developed heuristic and meta-heuristic optimization algorithms aimed at solving large-scale optimization problems, contributing significantly to the fields of neuromechanics and bio-signal processing. His commitment to precision health is evident through his research activities and contributions to various innovative projects in human mechanical systems and wearable technologies. He leads the Design Research Group and participates actively in academic and professional communities through awards and fellowships, including the AMTD Waterloo Global Talent Postdoctoral Fellowship, which he received in 2021.
