Biography

Miled Faiza is a poet and translator whose works include various poetry books and translations between English and Arabic. His notable poetry includes 'ʾAsābiʿ al-naḥḥāt' (2019) and 'Baqāya al-bayt alladhī dakhalnāhu marrah wāḥidah' (2004). He has translated novels, such as 'Autumn' (al-Kharīf, 2017) and 'Winter' (al-Shitāʾ, 2019) by Ali Smith, as well as co-translating the novel 'al-Talyānī' (Italian, 2021) by Shukri Mabkhout. Miled Faiza has published numerous translations of poetry and short stories. Before joining Brown University in 2011, he taught Arabic at Michigan State University, Virginia, and Middlebury College. His research interests primarily include Modern Arabic Literature and Translation Lexicography.
