Biography

Milena Almagro's research explores topics in urban economics using tools from the Industrial Organization literature. Her work expands on topics such as regulation in urban transportation, public housing, gentrification, and racial segregation. Her research has been published in prestigious journals including Econometrica, Theoretical Economics, Regional Science, Urban Economics, and the Journal of Urban Economics. Before joining Booth, Almagro served as a Junior Scholar at the Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve. She holds a PhD in economics from New York University and has also earned an MSc in econometrics and mathematical economics from the London School of Economics, a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and a Licentiate degree in Mathematics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
