Dr. Mina Beigi

Biography

Mina Beigi is a Professor of Career Studies at the University of Southampton's Business School and Co-Director of the Work Futures Research Centre. Her research focuses on the work-nonwork interface, career success, and understudied careers, utilizing in-depth qualitative methodologies. She serves as Associate Editor for the journal Human Relations and sits on the editorial boards of several academic journals. Beigi's research aims to assist individuals in taking ownership of their careers and to help organizations meet employees' work and nonwork needs. She adopts hands-on experiential approaches in her teaching, prioritizing the creation of an inclusive learning environment that enables students to think critically and flourish. In addition to supervising PhD students, she contributes to career research and practice, leading international research projects that examine women academics' promotion in Pakistan and the role of context in extreme career success. Her work has been published in notable journals such as Human Relations and the Journal of Vocational Behavior, and she is currently co-editing special issues for these journals. Beigi holds a PhD in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University, USA, and a PhD in Human Resource Management from Allameh Tabatabaei University, Iran. Before joining the University of Southampton in 2017, she held academic positions at Liverpool John Moores University and various other institutions in Iran. Beigi has delivered numerous workshops on work-life balance and remote work and is passionate about reading and baking.
