Mina Yang is a pianist, author, public speaker, and academic, as well as a hypnotherapist. She has earned a BA in Art History from Brown University, a MM in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory, and a PhD in Musicology from Yale University. Yang is the author of 'California Polyphony: Ethnic Voices, Musical Crossroads' and 'Planet Beethoven: Classical Music Turn of the Millennium', which has been selected as one of the best music books of 2014 by New Yorker critic Alex Ross. She has also published numerous journal articles and book chapters. Throughout her career, Yang has given public talks at conferences, panels, and master classes around the world. She has served on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory, University of California San Diego, USC Thornton School, and Minerva University, where she founded and chaired the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion faculty committee, leading DEI initiatives that focused on curriculum design and hiring practices. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Yang teaches at the Colburn School of Music Conservatory and runs a growing hypnotherapy practice, working with performing artists and public speakers to help them overcome performance anxiety and achieve peak performance using Rapid Transformational Therapy.
