Biography

Professor Ming Lim is currently a Professor of Supply Chain Management and Digitalisation at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. Prior to his appointment at Glasgow, he served as Dean of the College of Mechanical Engineering and Distinguished Professor of Manufacturing & Logistics Engineering at Chongqing University, China. He also held the position of Co-cluster Lead/Professor of Supply Chain Operations Management at Coventry University. Prof. Lim completed his PhD in Manufacturing Systems at the University of Exeter and has extensive experience in both academia and industry. He has worked as a business improvement manager in management consulting and began his academic career in logistics management at Aston University in 2006. He developed the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement at the University of Derby, focusing on technology-driven logistics and supply chain systems. His research encompasses three main areas: technology-driven logistics, sustainable supply chain management, and lean principles. Prof. Lim has published over 250 papers and has considerable experience in securing funding for research projects, totaling more than £1.4 million. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications.
