Ming Zhang is a Professor and the Program Director of Community and Regional Planning in the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously served as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University and as a Research Scientist at the Rockefeller Institute of Government in Albany, New York. Dr. Zhang also has experience as a licensed Planner/Architect and a Lecturer at Huazhong University of Science & Technology in Wuhan, China. He examines the economic equity impacts of transportation investments and addresses international planning challenges. Recently, Dr. Zhang has concentrated his research on megaregional transportation issues, Transit-Oriented Development, and the effects of high-speed rail on urban spatial development. He directs the University Transportation Center (UTC) for Cooperative Mobility Competitive Megaregions, funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
