Biography

Mingli Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick and a Research Associate at CeMMAP. He is also a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute, which is the UK's National Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Mingli received his PhD from Boston University and has held visiting positions at prominent institutions including UC Berkeley, Stanford University, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. His research interests focus on Econometrics, Machine Learning, and AI Economics. He has published papers in leading economics and statistics journals such as the Journal of Econometrics and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series B, along with Annals of Statistics. In recognition of his work, he was awarded the LABOUR Prize at the Seventh Italian Congress on Econometrics and Empirical Economics and received an Honorable Mention at the Arnold Zellner Thesis Award Competition presented by the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics in 2017. Since January 2024, he has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Econometrics.
