Biography

Ming received a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University in 2019, where he studied Materials Science and Engineering as well as Cognitive Science. He later earned a Ph.D. in 2024 from the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology. Now, he serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His teaching and research focus on enhancing the modern biology curriculum and understanding how students learn complex chemical phenomena. Ming is particularly interested in helping biology students develop mechanistic reasoning and improving their understanding of chemistry within the life sciences. He is passionate about equipping biology students with the necessary quantitative and computational skills required in today's data-driven scientific environment. To address the challenge of students struggling with abstract concepts in chemistry, he aims to create teaching tools and visualizations that connect chemical principles to biological contexts, thereby fostering a more coherent understanding among students.
