His research interests for his PhD primarily revolve around the politics of small states, with a focus on Southeast Asian cases, including Cambodia, Laos, and Singapore. Minh is particularly interested in the constructed notions of being small, strategic discourses, and worldviews, paying close attention to relationships with larger neighbors and self-perceptions. He employs interpretivist methods and conceptual analysis in his research, which reflects his methodological interests and his engagement in ongoing theoretical discussions in the field of international relations.
