Dr. Minoli Perera

Biography

Minoli Perera is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology within the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. Her research primarily focuses on pharmacogenomics, which aims to utilize patients' genomes to predict their responses to medications, particularly in minority populations. She integrates clinical expertise with high-throughput basic science methodologies to translate research findings into benefits for precision medicine. Her laboratory investigates adverse drug reactions, bioinformatics, cardiovascular diseases, gene regulation, genomic medicine, and personalized medicine. Perera has a PharmD from the University of Tennessee and a PhD from Ohio State University. She completed her postdoctoral training in pharmacogenomics at the University of Chicago. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades including the Genomics Health Disparities Lecturer award from NIH and the Leon Goldberg Early Investigator Award from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Perera is actively involved in various professional committees and editorial roles, demonstrating leadership in advancing the field of pharmacogenomics.
