Biography

Mira Edmonds is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School, where she directs the Juvenile Justice Clinic and teaches in the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic and Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic. Her research and teaching interests focus on holistic advocacy, community lawyering, indigent criminal defense, decarceration, prisoner reentry, and the consequences of conviction, including the affordable housing crisis and tenants’ rights. Prior to joining Michigan Law, Edmonds was a trial attorney in the criminal defense division of the Legal Aid Society in Manhattan. Additionally, Edmonds spent four years in Shanghai, where she worked on various environmental initiatives and taught at the East China University of Politics and Law.
