Dr. Mira Johri

Biography

Mira Johri is a Professor in the Department of Health Management, Evaluation, and Policy at the School of Public Health, University of Montreal, and a Principal Scientist at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre (CRCHUM). Her research focuses on social structural determinants of global child health, emphasizing equitable access to childhood vaccines worldwide, particularly in India. Mira holds a PhD in Philosophy and a Master of Public Health, both from McGill University and Yale University, respectively. She has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization and has held various expert roles, contributing to the global dialogue on immunization equity. Her work has been published in prestigious journals like The Lancet and the Bulletin of the World Health Organization. Noteworthy achievements include co-leading an HIV transmission prevention project in Guatemala and influencing health policy in Burkina Faso. Johri's leadership extends to her involvement with the Raah Health and Social Development Foundation, which aims to innovate health care in rural India. Her awards include the Vic Neufeld Mentorship Award from the Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research and the Research Excellence Award from the University of Montreal's School of Public Health.
