Biography

Miranda Cumpston is a Senior Research Fellow specializing in Evidence Synthesis and Qualitative and Implementation Methods at Monash University. She manages the Evidence Synthesis Team for the Australian Living Evidence Consortium (ALEC), working on developing Australia's living clinical guidelines for pregnancy and postnatal care, specifically the LEAPP project. Additionally, Miranda is the Co-Director of Cochrane's international Planetary Health Thematic Group and leads ALEC's Climate Health initiative. Her research is focused on evidence synthesis methods for systematic reviews, with a keen interest in public health and planetary health. Miranda has made significant contributions to making synthesis methods accessible to authors and decision-makers and has served as the Methods Editor for Cochrane Public Health. She co-edited the 2nd Edition of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions and has been involved in various training programs for systematic reviews in Australia and Canada. Miranda holds a PhD in Epidemiology from Monash University and a Master's in Public Health from the University of Queensland, along with an Honours degree in Government from the University of Sydney.
