Biography

Miranda Holmes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. She attended medical school at the Australian National University, followed by anesthesia training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. Dr. Holmes has completed fellowships in cardiac anesthesia and complex adult anesthesia. In 2019, she became a Specialist Anesthesiologist after obtaining her Fellowship from the Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. She pursued further specialization at the Royal Papworth Hospital in the United Kingdom, focusing on cardiothoracic anesthesia and critical care, particularly during England’s COVID-19 wave. Dr. Holmes has achieved Diplomate certification from the American National Board of Echocardiography in Transesophageal Echocardiography and has undergone additional training in Cardiac Anesthesia and Perioperative Echocardiography at the Toronto General Hospital. Prior to her role at the University of Toronto, Dr. Holmes served as a Staff Cardiac Anesthetist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
