Dr. Mircea Zloteanu

Biography

Mircea Zloteanu is a Lecturer in Psychology at King's College London, specializing in Criminology and Experimental Psychology. He joined King's in 2025 and coordinates the Research Methods module for the Psychology and Criminology undergraduate course. His research focuses on emotions, decision-making, and user behavior within the Sharing Economy, alongside deception detection. Mircea has conducted extensive studies on behavioral cues that indicate truthfulness or deception in social judgments, showcasing his expertise in investigative interviewing practices. An advocate for transparency and reproducibility in social science, he is involved with the UK Reproducibility Network and emphasizes rigorous methodology in his teachings. Mircea holds a PhD from University College London, where he previously contributed to research. His scholarly work includes contributions to peer-reviewed journals and his interests extend into meta-research, aiming to improve statistical methodologies within psychology. He is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
