Mirela Ciperiani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2006 under the supervision of Andrew Wiles. Her research interests focus on algebraic number theory and arithmetic algebraic geometry, exploring intricate mathematical concepts within these fields. Specifically, her work often involves the study of local points on supersingular elliptic curves, and she has contributed significantly to the understanding of p-adic heights and Heegner points. Ciperiani has co-authored several preprints and papers on topics such as the Weil–Chatelet divisible elements in Tate–Shafarevich groups and local-global trace questions related to twists of genus curves. Her notable publications appear in respected journals such as the Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik, Compositio Mathematica, and the Duke Mathematical Journal. In recognition of her dedication to teaching, she received the College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award in Spring 2011 and has been a member of prestigious societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, AMS, and AWM since 2000.
