Miriam Schuler is a Lecturer in German Law and the Programme Director for the LLB programme in English and German Law at King's College London. She is currently completing her PhD in European Law at King's College London, funded by the AHRC London Arts & Humanities Partnership Research Studentship. Her doctoral thesis explores the European Union's role in defending democratic standards among its Member States. Prior to her position at King’s, Miriam completed her Legal State Examination in Berlin and holds a Master’s degree in European Law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, as well as a Master of Laws in Transnational Law from King’s College London. At KCL, she has taught various undergraduate courses including European Law and German Public Law. Her primary research interests include European Union Law and Constitutional Law, concentrating on the role of transnational law in defending democratic values amidst democratic decline. To date, her publications have examined the role of Article 2 TEU in protecting European values among Member States.
