Dr. Miriam Zeitzen

Biography

Miriam Koktvedgaard Zeitzen holds a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, where she focused on polygamy and its implications in Urban Malaysia. She also possesses an M.Phil. in Prehistoric Archaeology from the University of Copenhagen and another M.Phil. in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. Her work integrates diverse fields including cultural heritage, museums, and medical anthropology. Miriam has conducted significant research on the anthropology of polygamy, expeditionary history, and ethnography, particularly in regions such as Southeast Asia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Central Asia. With a strong dedication to her field, she has contributed through peer-review editorial work, thus influencing the academic discourse surrounding her areas of expertise.
