Biography

Mirjam Palosaari Eladhari is an Associate Professor at Stockholm University, where she teaches game design and game research methods. Her research primarily focuses on AI-based game design and interactive narratives, exploring application areas such as tabletop story-making games and mental health. Mirjam is an independent game designer and leads the label Otter Play. Her work emphasizes co-creation, particularly how interactors can add elements to games that help them reflect on their existence and gain new perspectives. She has been involved as a lead game designer on various professional projects, including the EU-funded initiative C2Learn. Additionally, Mirjam serves on the board of several organizations, including the Higher Education Video Game Alliance (HEVGA), the Association for Digital Interactive Narratives (ARDIN), and the Society for the Advancement of the Study of Digital Games (SAGDS). She is also the vice chair of the EU COST Action INDCOR, which focuses on interactive narrative design. Since 2021, she has been engaged as an independent reviewer for the EC, specifically for the project "A European AI Demand Platform Ecosystem" (AI4EU), which aims to create a comprehensive Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Europe.
