I study language as a cognitive and a neural system. My research focuses on the neural mechanisms that support spoken language comprehension. Using behavioural neuroimaging techniques, I investigate the properties of speech input that engage the underlying neural architecture, leading to successful comprehension. A major strand of my research is bilingualism, and I am interested in understanding the cognitive and neural consequences of the ability to speak multiple languages.
