Mitchell Cummins is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science at the University of New South Wales. His primary research focuses on evolution, neurodevelopment, cognition, and the role of brain long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in these processes. He employs a variety of techniques, including bioinformatics, molecular biology, and imaging approaches, to investigate the function of ultraconserved elements (UCEs) in animal genomes, particularly in placental mammals. His doctoral work at the University of Newcastle, under the supervision of Associate Professor Doug Smith, explored the blood-brain barrier, neuroimmune pathways, transposable elements, and aging in the central nervous system. Cummins has developed a co-designed program called dedUCE, aimed at identifying UCEs.
Includes Business Intelligence, Enterprise Systems, and Cybersecurity Management streams.
