Dr. Mitchell Levy

Biography

Mitchell Levy, MD, MCCM, FCCP, is the Chief of the Division of Critical Care, Pulmonary, and Sleep Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. A founding member of the Executive Committee of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign, he has led significant initiatives to improve sepsis management and reduce mortality through evidence-based guidelines. With over 130 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters authored, Dr. Levy conducts extensive research in fields such as biomarkers for sepsis and end-of-life care in the ICU. He has played a crucial role in large, international clinical trials involving sepsis and has been actively engaged with the National Quality Forum and other committees aimed at enhancing healthcare quality and safety. His work has consistently focused on improving clinical outcomes and translating research findings into bedside practice. Dr. Levy's dedication to education and training in critical care is demonstrated through his numerous presentations and leadership roles in professional organizations.
