Biography

Mitchell R. Lunn, MD, MAS, FACP, FASN, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Nephrology) and Epidemiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. His research focuses on health disparities affecting sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations, primarily those within the LGBTQIA+ community. Dr. Lunn co-directs the PRIDE Study, a national longitudinal health cohort study that involves 31,000 SGM adults, and leads the PRIDEnet research network that enables SGM participation in the biomedical research process. He has an extensive background in nephrology, having completed his residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a nephrology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lunn is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of researchers and has received several awards for his contributions to the field, including the Stanford Pride Trailblazer Award and the Lyon & Bendheim Citizenship Award from Tufts University. In addition to his research, he has numerous board certifications and has served on various professional committees focused on improving health outcomes for SGM individuals.
