Biography

Mitchell B. Weiss is an adjunct professor at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a partner in the international tax practice at K&L Gates LLP. He specializes in restructurings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property migrations, and tax-advantaged financings. A licensed attorney and CPA in Illinois, Mitchell is a frequent speaker at tax conferences and has published numerous articles in the field of international tax. He serves on the Advisory Board of the International Tax Journal and is a member of IFA’s USA Branch Council. His notable publications include substantial works on United States international taxation and the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on international tax. Additionally, he has authored several educational texts regarding partnership taxation. Before joining K&L Gates, he worked with international tax groups at Sidley & Austin, Hogan Lovells, and Deloitte. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Taxation from Southern Illinois University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School.
