Biography

Mitya Pearson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick. His academic journey began with a PhD from the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London. Previously, he lectured on British politics at the University of Cambridge and also worked as a researcher focused on energy and climate change policy at a Westminster think tank. Mitya was a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at King’s College London, where he conducted a project examining UK government decision-making on climate change since 2008. His research interests are deeply rooted in environmental politics within Britain and Europe, exploring the interactions between policy and climate issues. He is involved in various teaching roles, including directing the module on Politics in the UK and teaching a course on Politics and Climate Change at the master's level. Mitya is also available for PhD supervision in areas related to environmental politics, climate change policy, and British and European politics.
