Biography

Miyah Tianna Grant is a licensed staff forensic psychologist at the Rhode Island Family Court Mental Health Clinic and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She is an active member of the Brown Training Consortium’s Child Track social justice subcommittee. Dr. Grant is committed to fostering the growth and development of future psychologists and emphasizes the importance of cultural competence, empathy, advocacy, and mentorship. Her work centers on exploring, understanding, and addressing the unique challenges faced by system-involved youth and their families. She has particular experience conducting forensic evaluations of juvenile-legal involved youth and treating adolescents with complex clinical concerns. Dr. Grant's clinical research interests include exploring the mental health consequences of intersecting inequalities and the disadvantages that marginalized youth face in the juvenile legal system, as well as addressing ethnoracial disparities in youth diversion and minority contact.
