Mladen Nedimović is a Killam Professor and Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University. He has over 27 years of experience as a geophysicist, specializing in controlled source seismology. His work spans academia, government, and the petroleum industry, focusing on imaging methodology development and the collection, analysis, and interpretation of 2D and 3D multichannel seismic reflection and wide-angle refraction data. These data are collected from land and sea for various purposes, including exploration, environmental assessment, and engineering applications. He serves as the Principal Investigator on multiple projects funded by the National Science Foundation, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and other organizations. His current research interests are primarily centered around continental rifting, crustal accretion processes at ultra-slow to fast-spreading centers, oceanic crustal evolution, subduction zone structure and processes, and petroleum exploration at rifted margins, alongside investigating coastal responses to climate change through seismic oceanography.
