Dr. Moez Ali

Biography

Moez Ali is a Faculty Member in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University, Canada. His research interests include machine learning systems, responsible AI, and automated modeling on the theoretical side, while on the applied side, he focuses on practical AI solutions for business, government, and technology startups. Moez is the creator of PyCaret, an open-source, low-code machine learning library widely adopted by data scientists and organizations around the world. With degrees in Finance, Economics, and Management Analytics from Queen’s University, he has worked globally, applying AI to sectors like retail, financial services, government, and healthcare. His academic and professional endeavors aim at building explainable, inclusive AI systems accessible to non-technical users. Moez’s research and teaching emphasize automated machine learning (AutoML), model interpretability, and scalable AI architectures. He has contributed to discussions on ethical AI and open-source innovation and has held speaking engagements at major AI conferences worldwide. At Queen’s, he teaches in the MMA, MMAI, and MBA programs, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and Natural Language Processing.
