Dr. Mohadeseh Taheri Mousavi

Biography

Mohadeseh Taheri-Mousavi is an Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. She joined CMU in September 2022, after completing a postdoctoral association at MIT and a postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University. She earned her Ph.D. from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland and holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. Her research focuses on the sustainable development of structural alloys, specifically their application in extreme environments. She leads projects funded by organizations such as the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, NASA, DARPA, and NSF DMREF. Taheri-Mousavi is actively involved in pioneering work to utilize artificial intelligence for alloy discovery and design, demonstrating the potential for next-generation materials to withstand extreme conditions. Her contributions also include research aimed at understanding and mitigating hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength metallic alloys.
