Dr. Mohamad Tiba

Biography

Mohamad Tiba is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School and a member of the Max Harry Weil Institute of Critical Care Research and Innovation. His research interests focus on the development of non-invasive monitoring techniques, innovative resuscitative fluids, and hemostatic strategies to enhance critical care outcomes. Dr. Tiba oversees the Pre-Clinical Critical Care Laboratory (PC3L), which fosters collaboration among clinicians and scientists to create high-fidelity preclinical models for studying critical illnesses. He has played a significant role as a principal investigator and co-investigator on various federally and institutionally funded projects, while also mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. Moreover, he is an active member of institutional committees including the IACUC and Faculty Senate Research Advisory Committee. With a background in clinical research design and statistical analysis, Dr. Tiba's qualifications include an MS from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and an MD from Damascus University.
