Biography

Mohamed Ouf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University. He supervises graduate students in the MASc and PhD programs in Building Engineering. Dr. Ouf’s research encompasses occupant-building interactions, building performance optimization, occupant-centric building controls, machine learning applications in building operations, and the design of net-zero energy buildings. He is an active member of various academic and professional organizations, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). Dr. Ouf also contributes to the International Energy Agency’s Annex 79 on occupant-centric building design and operation. His teaching portfolio includes courses on occupant-centric building design and various aspects of building service systems and project management. He has authored numerous refereed journal articles and conference proceedings, significantly impacting the field of sustainable building research and occupant behavior analysis.
