Biography

Professor Rhouma is a veterinarian by training, holding a Master’s degree in Pharmacology and a Doctorate in Microbiology. His research focuses on the characterization of mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and virulence of pathogenic bacteria in livestock production, as well as optimizing antimicrobial dosing regimens in livestock. His research is centered on a risk assessment approach, ensuring food safety from 'farm to table'. He is also the coordinator of the Certificate in Food Technology and Safety Program (CTIA).
